Belle-2 represents a milestone for us at Astro at Baylor Rocketry as our first leap into international competition. Standing 12 feet tall, this high-powered sounding rocket was engineered to compete in the 10,000-ft COTS category at the International Rocket Engineering Competition, marking Baylor’s presence on a global stage.
Powered by an M2400 solid rocket motor, Belle-2 roared through the air, reaching an apogee of 9,800 feet, just shy of our 10k target. Belle-2’s airframe endured recovery with minimal structural damage, showcasing Baylor Engineering.
For our team's first competitive launch vehicle, it laid the groundwork for Astro at Baylor's future engineers.
