Astro at Baylor Rocketry
The rocketry team designs, builds, and tests high-performance rockets to compete in the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC). Members conduct simulations, manufacturing, ground testing, and test launches to validate performance and reliability before competition. Through hands-on engineering and iterative testing, the rocketry team continuously improves designs to maximize performance while maintaining safety and reliability. Baylor Liquid Propulsion
The Baylor Liquid Propulsion (BLP) team focuses on testing their fully designed and built liquid rocket engines. After the team manufactured the engine and test stand, they prioritize lab testing and troubleshooting before on-site individual and combined cold flows in preparation for hotfire attempt, ensuring safety as a top priority. As the team progresses in their research and development, the goal is to integrate a liquid propulsion system into a rocket for IREC. Learn more about BLP.
RASC-AL
The NASA RASC-AL competition team is working to develop concept proposals of lunar technology designed to advance long-term human exploration. This year, our team is developing a campaign of technology concepts centered around harnessing lunar regolith for steel production, molten oxide electrolysis to convert lunar regolith into oxygen and metal. We integrate this system with a regolith-collection method and a coordinated fleet of lunar rovers to transport material to and from the processing site. Over the course of two semesters, the team develops a professional proposal, a 15-page detailed report, animations, and prototypes for their concepts to be presented in Florida.
